The new trailer for the Disney movie and Tim Burton’s latest creation “Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking-Glass” is out. Tim Burton has brought out the darker side of Wonderland as was originally intended by it’s writer. The film tells the story where Alice travels back into Wonderland ten years later (without any recollection of the first) and during winter (the first book was in summer) the main theme is opposites and chess. Alice meets up with some characters from her past Mr Rabbit, Mad Hatter the Red Queen. There are also new characters such as the White Queen.

Alice is played by Mia Wasikowska a Australian actress. Known for her role as Sophie from In Treatment tv miniseries. Further I do not know much about her except that according looks wise she suits the role as Alice.
Johnny Depp plays the role of the Mad Hatter who apparently has a bigger role in this movie than in all previous Alice movies. Any movie with Johnny Depp in, is worth a look. He tends to bring a dark comedy to most films with a twist of insanity. This is not the frist time he and Tim Burton works together as Tim Burton made Edward Scissorhands which cemented Johnny in the film industry. I look forward to see what he does with the Mad Hatter.
Helena Bonham makes a fabulous Red Queen which we have met in the previous Alice in Wonderland films, with her wicked famous words ‘Of With Her Head!’. Helena is a excellent actress and is also no a new comer to dark comedy, as she has featured in many of Tim Burton’s films and has also starred along side Johnny as Mrs Lovett in Sweeney Todd. She also has the ability to appear quite mad while keeping her composure, almost like a real queen.
Anne Hathaway takes the role of the White Queen. I like Anne and think she is a good actress who also has a quirkiness to her. The White Queen is new to the me so I am not sure what her character needs except she is apparently also mad, who is not in wonderland?
Stephen Fry is the Cheshire Cat, Michael Sheen of all people is playing the White Rabbit. Alan Rickman is the serious and wise Caterpillar. Matt Lucas plays Tweedledee and Tweedledum who suits the role perfectly even though the animation effects makes for disturbing characters.
