Despite having starred in many Hollywood films including blockbuster hits, actress Cameron Diaz feels like she’s “just getting started” with her Hollywood career. The actress — who’s currently filming an action flick alongside Tom Cruise titled “Knight and Day” — got her first break in showbiz aged just 21 when she auditioned for, and won, a part in The Mask opposite Jim Carrey.
“In a way I feel like I’m just getting started with my work,” said Diaz. “I got into it at such a young age, I didn’t really know what I was doing for a long time.
“Now I feel like I’m getting the hang of it a little bit. I feel like: ‘OK, now I actually have something to contribute.’
“That’s what I love most about getting older — you feel like you have more to offer, you’ve gained information and knowledge, and you’re a better version of yourself. I want to embrace that.”
Cameron is reprising her voice role in the hit franchise Shrek 4 opening in theaters next year.
