Just in time for election season, GMA-7 is trumpeting the lead of its flagship primetime newscast “24 Oras” hosted by veteran anchors Mike Enriquez and Mel Tiangco over its counterpart news show on ABS-CBN — “TV Patrol World.” At may basis naman talaga ang kanilang claim na number one ang 24 Oras sa Mega Manila. But expect ABS-CBN loyalists to counter the claim na milya-milya ang layo ng Kapuso program over the Kapamilya show sa TNS National Ratings.

24 Oras maintained its lead over its rival primetime newscast based on the Mega Manila TV Household Ratings data for the period of January 4 to 29 from AGB Nielsen Philippines. GMA Network’s primetime newscast led by 4.6 percent during the first week of January and continued to top the competition throughout the month.
GMA’s Public Affairs programs also posted remarkable leads over the competition during the entire month. Unang Hirit dominated Umagang Kay Ganda with a lead that grew from 0.6 percent to 1.6 percent by the last week of January. Reporter’s Notebook posted a 2.6 lead over The Correspondents from Jan. 4 to 8. Born To Be Wild continued to dominate Probe Profiles/ Bandila the entire month, even posting a commanding 4.2 percent lead from Jan. 11 to 15. Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, in turn, was also victorious as its ratings continued its climb the entire January.
But undoubtedly leading the charge is 24 Oras, posting a commanding 29.5 as against the competition’s 27.2 rating points from January 11 to 15. In the succeeding weeks of January 18 to 22 and 25 to 29, 24 Oras’s lead grew to 3.1 rating points.
The latest ratings data further solidifies 24 Oras’s position as the leading and most preferred newscast, powered by the viewers’ unwavering trust in the newscast and in the network.
In a quantitative survey conducted by AGB Nielsen Philippines last September, GMA scored a credibility rating of 68.9 percent, besting its rival’s 45.7 percent. In the same survey, GMA News and Public Affairs personalities topped the list based on appeal, credibility, competence, and interest to watch. Jessica Soho led all anchors and reporters in terms of appeal, Mike Enriquez was considered by respondents as the most credible, while Mel Tiangco was said to be the most competent and most interesting to watch. Arnold Clavio and Vicky Morales were also consistently in the top five news anchors across all measured attributes.
These findings underscore 24 Oras’s dominance over the competition. sa PEP, sa STARMOMETER sa ACCESS PINOY at sa broadsheet naka publish ito…..para i mind set ang tao na sila nga ang tunay na pinagkakatiwalaan……ang siste matatalino na ang advertisers at audience….ang kabila ni hindi minsan nagpalabas ng article na ganito kasi alam naman nila ang totoo…..kapuso ibahin naman natin ang strategy….

Just like in electing a new president in the Philippines. Lahat ng lugar sa Pinas counts. Hindi lang sa mga piling lugar. Right? So y prefer d ratings in megamanila against the whole Philippines (nationwide)? Buong Pilipinas naman ang nanunuod ng tv. Buong Pinas ang bumuboto at d ryt age. So, its best, safe and right to say that ABS CBN is indeed the leader. Kasali naman din ung megamanila sa conting ng nationwide ratings. Its very concrete and obvious. milya milya ung lead ng abscbn shows against the rival shows. But in mega manila, ang lapit ng labanan and nalalamangan pa ng abscbn ung ibang shows ng gma. like, darna. it has been beatn a lot of times by shows of abscbn in megamanila.look at asap ang sop. ang layo din, kahit sa megamaila. lets not b blinded by the truth. the truth is, GMA is not solid 100% in megamanila which is the only place in the Phils were they reign. ABSCBN is putting up a fyt in megamanila. parang 55-45 ung labanan dun. but nationwide, flawless ung abscbn. PEACE
